Building GRAND-Families Inc. is a Prince Edward Island nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting grandparents, great grandparents, and other kinship caregivers who have stepped forward to raise children when their parents are unable to do so. Founded by Donald Avery after recognizing the growing number of grandparents quietly becoming second time parents, our organization exists to ensure these families never face that journey alone. For more than five years, we have worked alongside caregivers, community organizations, researchers, healthcare professionals, educators, and governments to improve the lives of kinship families throughout Prince Edward Island.
